Spillage sumps and pumps are a vital part of each processing facility to maintain good housekeeping, provide safe working areas, remove harmful or noxious effluents and prevent flooding and damage to electrical and other plant during large plant spillages. Also to recover, and deliver, valuable process materials back to the process system for further separation and profit.
The problems and high costs associated with the current methods of design, construction and operation of such facilities are manifold. Only a handful of the hundreds of thousands of spillage sumps in the world are cost effective installations and trouble free in operation. This product overcomes the many disadvantages to the existing approach to spillage sump/pump construction and encompasses specifically designed, standard, completely prefabricated and pre-tested sump and pump packages.
The units are supplied with level and electrical control systems as a complete package and only require a hole in the ground and power supply for operation. The design and procurement work required is thus negligible.
Beneficial features of “Turbo-Flush” packages are: -
•
|
“Hands-off” spillage sumps.
|
| |
- No operators required. |
| • |
Supplied ready to plug-in and operate. |
| |
- No extensive concrete works required.
- No extensive pit design required.
- Lowest installation costs. |
| • |
Unblockable |
| |
- Excavates dry solids at high slurry density, then shuts down. |
| • |
Recovers large particles. |
| |
- Excavates whatever sized particles the pump is designed to carry. |
| • |
Oversized particles and trash. |
| |
- Prevented from entering sump by non-choking screens. |
| • |
Intake Screens. |
| |
- Flushed by “Turbo-Flush” action each time pump starts. |
| • |
Low Maintenance. |
| |
- Sump has no moving parts.
- Pump only operates on full-sump demand.
- Pump and pipelines are not damaged by blockages and their manual removal. |
| • |
Minimises water consumption. |
| |
- Minimum dilution of downstream processing facilities.
- Uses 100 times less water than conventional solids handling sumps. |
| • |
Minimises power consumption per tonne of solids excavated. |
| • |
Lowest operating cost. |
| • |
Safe operation. |
| |
- No manual digging out required.
- Floors remain clean. |
| • |
Smaller sumps required than conventional systems. |
